Overdosing or underdosing of a chemical: This may or may not cause a big problem, but it can. For example, overdosing of cyanuric acid also known as, a stabilizer, could force you to drain the pool. A pool with too much stabilizer can result in a “chlorine lock” when this happens chlorine can no longer sanitize. The only way to get rid of cyanuric acid is to drain the pool.
Underdosing or overdosing can also have an effect on the surface of the pool. For instance, allowing calcium to get too low can cause etching, and too high can cause scaling.

Running your pool pump for too short a time will not allow the water to turn over enough for a given amount of time. This just means that for any size residential pool, the water should move through the system at least 1.5 times per 24-hour period.

- Regular filter cleaning
- Regular brushing of the sides of the pool
- Vacuuming the sides and bottom of the pool
- Cleaning the tiles along the water’s surface
- Cleaning the debris traps
- Skimming the surface to remove debris

Then there is the chemistry
Maintaining a pool’s chemistry is not simple it is real chemistry. The water in your pool is a solution and there are many ways to get that chemistry wrong which will cause surprising and mostly unwanted changes to the chemistry in the water.
To keep the solution/pool water right means:
- Water that feels good,
- not too hard,
- not too soft,
- does not burn your eyes
- cause your skin to break out.
- Does not bleach out all of your clothes
- Is clear and clean
- Does not stain the surface of your pool
To get this means you have to test the water correctly and then interpret the results correctly.
Once you’ve got the test and interpreted the results you’ll need to
- Take a trip to the local pool store
- Get the right chemicals.
- Store those chemicals
- Finally, add the chemicals to the pool in the right amount and in the right order.

When pool owners invest in an automatic cleaner, they can get a complete service but save money because standard service eliminates vacuuming. And this makes sense because you already have an auto cleaner doing so why pay extra for what your auto cleaner is already doing?
This service has everything else except vacuuming and a Blue and clear guarantee. We don’t offer a guarantee with this service because if the floor of your pool is not kept clear of debris this can cause bacteria to grow. If we are fighting with debris on the bottom our standard dosing may not be enough to keep up. This is why it is critical that the pool bottom is vacuumed or the automatic cleaner runs regularly.
Standard Service provides customers with the following:

We come out and review the condition of your pool with you to determine the best approach to get you pool back
My pump is not working
We can schedule you for a service call and get it working again before we start service.
How often do you come
Depending on the plan, we come once per week. If there is a major holiday service is shortened to chem only.
How often do you clean salt cells
Cleaning salt cells are not part of the normal maintenance. But we do have a special program to maintain your salt cell.
Do you come at a specific time
We provide a day of the week that we will be there but we cannot provide a specific time.
Do you clean filters every week
We clean filters on as needed basis. Over cleaning filters can actually damage them and decrease their useful life.

Our prices are based on a monthly charge, so you are charged by the month, and not by the week.
